Keeping the lights on isn’t as simple as flicking a switch. For Hydro Tasmania’s exhibit at Agfest, we created an interactive game experience where players adjust power supply to meet demand, revealing just how much energy it really takes to power Tasmania.
In this playful animation, a talking envelope delivers a surprisingly charming lesson on Tasmania’s compulsory voting system. With wit and personality, it guides viewers through the civic duty of casting a ballot—making democracy feel a little more delightful.
This explainer for TasNetworks introduces community batteries through a whimsical paper cutout style, giving the visuals a tactile, handcrafted charm. Layered with rich parallax camera moves, the animation adds depth and motion to a story about powering Tasmania’s future together.
For this project, we used supplied imagery to craft cinemagraphs that breathe with quiet tension—parallax camera moves and subtle animations working together to evoke a haunting sense of weight and unease.
Our papercraft model of the Australian Antarctic Program’s tractor train was designed with modular parts, so every build could be as unique as the expeditions themselves. Attach the trailers in any order and recreate the spirit of exploration, one piece at a time.
Imagine an interactive invite where guests rotated a 3D cube puzzle, matching images on each face to progress. With every solved stage, new event details were revealed—turning a simple invite into a playful, hands-on experience.
A desktop and mobile game where players collect pipes, harvest water, build facilities, and hire staff—offering a hands-on look at what it really takes to keep a community’s water services running.
Blending 2D and 3D animation techniques with a conscious aesthetic design, this animation project was a great opportunity for us to get involved in a worthwhile endeavour.
With a focus on the creation of an incredibly accessible VR experience, we were able to harness the innovative capabilities of VR to design a game that virtually anyone could pick up and play.
Creating an engaging animation that is a fusion of education and endearment that is aimed at converting even the most 'stuck in their ways' of punter.
Featuring a photorealistic morphing from a human to a goose, combined with digitally recreated environments, this project presented a great range of challenges and opportunities.
Blending real world environments with digitally constructed scenes, this TVC smoothly transitioned from the vastness of deep space to a local Dan Murphy’s store.
The Arnott’s Shapes Flavour Battle was an arcade inspired, 2D, interactive animation. In this pixelated spectacle, two customizable characters would battle it out, upon giant Arnott’s Shapes of varying flavours.
Cruciferous refers to vegetables belonging to the Brassicaceae family… well, that cleared that up, didn’t it? Jokes aside, basically cruciferous is just the scientific term that covers broccoli and cauliflower. AWF brought these respective vegetables to life as printed 3D objects for use in stunt...
Filming and tracking a real-life Astronaut, this TVC sends the character into a digitally constructed space.
This TVC involved the blend of live action performances and digitally constructed environments and objects. Set in a single multistory building with a variety of different workplaces; each iteration zoomed into one of these workplaces and highlighted potential situations that could affect employe...
The waters, in which the Huon Agriculture offshore fishing pens are situated, bear witness to some of the most extreme and roughest conditions on the planet. AWF was tasked with producing an animated TVC, showcasing these conditions and the monstrous strength of the “fortress” pens as they surviv...
In order to help realise a television commercial celebrating the 2nd birthday of the One Card Loyalty program, AWF set off to New Zealand to provide on-set VFX supervision and capture digital reference. The production called upon both the studio's digital capture skills and animation expertise.
This project called for the studio to create a miniaturised representation of our home base state of Tasmania. Capturing the essence of the island through intricate and charming details.
This project showcased power of an endearing 2D animation to successfully get across our client's messaging.
